Rx/OTC Drug Abuse Awareness Week - Thursday, February 25, 2010
The Garner Police Department and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) have partnered with DARE America and Safe Kids Wake County to promote Rx/OTC Drug Abuse Awareness Week from February 22 28, 2010 and Poison Prevention Week from March 14 -20, 2010. This effort is to educate parents and youth of the dangers of abusing Rx/OTC drugs and of the fatal and nonfatal poisonings common in children under the age of five. (full story)

Garner Police Seek Hit and Run Driver - Monday, February 22, 2010
The Garner Police are seeking a blue four door Honda with tinted windows involved in a felonious hit and run Sunday night, February 21, 2010. This vehicle, operated by a Hispanic male, collided with a pedestrian in the 400 block of E. Main St. at approximately 9:15 p.m. The pedestrian, Dominique Ferrell, age 16 of Raleigh, was injured and required transport to the hospital where she was treated and released. (full story)

Haiti Benefit Night at Golden Corral - Monday, February 15, 2010
The Garner Police Department, Lion's Clubs of District 31G, and Golden Corral have teamed up to raise money to benefit the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. (full story)

Police Arrest Man for Armed Robbery - Thursday, January 21, 2010
Garner Police Department arrested and charged Robert Jerome Henderson, DOB 10/31/1988, of 5827 Waterford Crystal Ct. Raleigh, with first degree burglary, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a felon, and resist, delay, and obstruct on 1/20/10. (full story)

Rape Defense Seminar - Monday, January 11, 2010
On February 6, 2010 from 10:00am 2:00pm The Garner Police Department will be hosting a 4-hour Rape Defense Class for Women (ages 12 and older) at the West District Police Sub-Station, 1809 Garner Station Blvd. (full story)

Garner PD Hosts - Monday, December 21, 2009
Officers, police explorers, and family members from the Garner Police Department, along with local businesses, sponsored Shop with a Cop on Sunday, December 20, 2009. Fourteen families with a total of 30 children participated in this years event. The party began with lunch for the families, face painting with Mimi the Clown, and a visit from Santa Claus. Several local businesses including Jersey Mikes, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Dominos, Food Lion, Papa Johns, Target, Lowes Foods, and Chick-Fil-A all provided food for the party. (full story)

Town of Garner Runs with Power UP Foundation - Monday, December 21, 2009
Garner Town Manager Hardin Watkins and Police Sergeant Chris Clayton ran 14 miles on Sunday, December 20, 2009 from downtown Raleigh through Garner as they accompanied Coach Doug Merrill on his journey from Boston, MA to the Florida Keys. (full story)

100th DWI Arrest Made by Traffic Safety Task Force - Monday, December 07, 2009
The Wake County Traffic Safety Task Force conducted Booze It and Lose It nighttime traffic safety checkpoints on December 4th and 5th and made its 100th DWI arrest for the year. Checkpoints were run in Knightdale and Cary to kick off the four week Booze It and Lose It campaign that ends January 3, 2010. During Booze It and Lose It, stepped-up enforcement and checkpoints are being conducted across the state. Officers are focusing on removing impaired drivers from the statefs roads this holiday season. (full story)
